Hey with Zion Family Theatre night

Hey with Zion Family Theatre night

We have booked 50 tickets to watch Oldham Theatre Workshop’s “Hansel and Gretel” at 7.30 p.m. on Thursday 20th December 2018 to be performed at:

Oldham Library
live@thelibrary Performance Space
Greaves Street
Oldham
OL1 1AL

We think this will be a lovely way to start the Christmas holiday, and invite you to book with us any tickets you may like. We think that for the families who come, it will be a warm, Christmassy event.

We ask parents to bring their children, and enjoy the show with them. The cast is made up of children- who knows, it may even be that a Hey with Zion pupil takes up acting with the Oldham Theatre Workshop afterwards.

To book tickets, please send a request to the school office with payment of £8 per ticket, or complete and return the slip at the bottom of a letter coming home soon.  Thank you.

(Note: I am aware that the supply of 50 tickets is limited- I don’t want to over commit the school budget; tickets will be issued on a first come, first served basis.)

Books v The Internet

Books v The Internet

Books v The Internet

I love books; I love reading. I also appreciate that the internet is an amazing and fantastic resource, and I’m quite jealous of some of the games (e.g. Fifa) that our children have access to nowadays. Also, for all social media can be a nuisance when the trolls are trolling, it also has fantastic benefits. If I want to find something out, though, I sort of trust books- I figure they’re usually published by firms with reputations to protect and have to be, generally, pretty accurate. Much on the internet is factual, too… but not everything. I recommend to children that they don’t believe everything they read on the internet. Please have a look at the website below, and see if your children can tell fact from lie:

When researching on the internet, sometimes a bit of checking can be a good thing.

Choir vacancies

Choir vacancies

We have a fabulous new choir teacher (an opera singer, I am told), a real specialist from Oldham Music Centre who is running our after school choir each Tuesday. We have quite a few vacancies, and I thoroughly recommend it. If you would like you child to give it a go, please leave a comment or contact Mrs. Hodkinson in reception. It is free of charge, and takes place in Miss Daley’s classroom until 4.15 each Tuesday after school.
