Hello!
I can’t
quite believe that this is the last week of term and the last week of the year
before the summer holidays. It has been a very challenging time for you as
parents and also for us as teachers. We have remained open to key worker
children since lockdown and have continued working throughout the time,
including the holidays, trying our best
to support you all. We have planned learning, developed policies, continued to read the dozens of DFE guidance e
mails, conducted meetings virtually and found ways to open safely to more
children as well as teach and care for those in school.
I would
like to thank you as parents for continuing your child’s education at home and for
keeping this time as stress free for your children. The children have been
wonderful, I am so proud of you all!
I would
also like to thank the teachers and staff at school who have tried their best
and kept school running throughout the entire time and to Mr C who has worked
tirelessly to make school happen for those in school and at home.
This final week we will continue to access the Oak National Academy. This week there will be no lessons as such ( unless you want to access previous weeks) but there are activities that you can dip into.

on the schedule and access your child’s year group.
In addition,
I would like you
to write a letter to your teacher, telling them what has been the highlight of
this year, what you have enjoyed most and what you have learned.
Add to the letter some of the things you have
struggled with and how you have overcome, or are overcoming the difficulties
and challenges you have faced.
Your teachers, I
know, have really missed you all and would have loved for this year to have
been different for you, but things happen out of our control and we must adapt
to the problems and to try to see the good in all things, as well as doing the
best we can in every circumstance presented to us.
Write in your
letter the things you are looking forward to in September and your hopes for
the year ahead.
Finally, add how
you have become a better person since September.
Send photos of
your letters to me on the e mail below and I will forward them to your teachers
and hopefully make them into a book.
If you have time
and would like to continue the learning, check out the websites on the class
blog for your year, for lessons and learning that you mayhave missed. (BBC Bite
size is great!) Try to read widely, use TT Rock stars and learn those times
tables! Practise your handwriting and spellings. Read a dictionary and learn a
new word each day- impress your friends and family by using it in your speech.
Conduct a nature study of the area you live in and notice people, businesses
and transport around you.
Be kind every day
and help each other in whatever way you can!
I
hope and pray that we continue to be through the worst of this pandemic and I really
look forward to seeing you all in September.
Take care, have a
lovely summer and God Bless you.
Mrs. M
